WHY RECOVER?

At Cheeks we love working hard and getting the best out of ourselves, but we know it’s equally important to relax, recover and take care of our body.

The Cheeks Recovery Room includes both Infrared Sauna and Compression Therapy.

  • INFRARED SAUNA

    Infrared Sauna uses infrared heaters to emit infrared light which is experienced as heat and absorbed by the body. Infrared sauna use has proven to elicit a multitude of both psychological and physical benefits. The use of heat therapy has been shown to trigger similar mechanisms in the brain and body as physical cardiovascular energy. The body responds to heat by releasing both dynorphins and endorphins within the brain. Dynorphins cause initial resistance or discomfort to the heat but biochemically allow for endorphins to have enhanced effects on our mood and body overall.

  • NORMATEC III

    Compression Therapy has been shown to provide a multitude of benefits in the physical recovery of muscles post workout. Normatec 3 is the next evolution of the iconic Normatec series, using dynamic air compression to advance your wellness, recover faster, improve your training, and maximize your performance. Normatec’s patented precision pulse technology helps to increase circulation, revive muscles, and reduce swelling and has long been the choice of elite athletes and consumers throughout the globe.

INFRARED SAUNA

  • The main benefits on infrared sauna include:

    • Improved mood

    • Improved stress response

    • Improved cardiovascular health

    • Let’s be real - that heat is awesome

    • Two towels - One to sit on and one to dry off post-sweat. Towels are necessary in the sauna, if you don’t bring one they are available to purchase in studio

    • Drink Bottle

    • Your favourite playlist or podcast - The sauna is hooked up to Spotify

  • Your safety is our number one priority. Here are some tips to ensure you get the most out of your session:

    • Each sauna session runs for 45 minutes. You are welcome to bring a friend with you for an extra $25 - to be paid in studio

    • Hydration is key - ensure you are adequately hydrated prior to entering the sauna and continue to hydrate after you have finished your session

    • You have full control over the temperature of the sauna. We recommend staying between 45-65 degrees celsius to get the maximum benefits from the sauna

    • We recommend leaving your phone outside the sauna

  • Nothing - that’s the best thing about it! Sessions can range for up to 45 minutes. You can bring your phone to scroll TikTok, we have a TV set up with Netflix or you can use this time to completely switch off.

  • Recovery session bookings run for an hour and include up to 45 minutes in the Normatec III Leg Compression Boots and access to the recovery room stretch area, foam rollers and Theragun.

    Bookings can be made online or through our Cheeks Pilates app.
